who i’m voting for now

i was saddened when i learned Ron Paul was ending his bid for the presidency.  i spent months spreading the word, going door to door in icy january, and marching downtown.  i’ve learned alot about America through the process and even more about myself.  but today i am even more upset by the horrible candidates we are presented with today. Obama, the man who can not answer a question and who has to please everyone, the man that stands for nothing; and McCain, the neo conservative that lies by having ‘R’ next to his name.

as of yesterday (after much consideration) i think i am going to vote for McCain.  my original plan was to write in Ron Paul on the ballot, but one thing changed that.  the senate decided yesterday in favor of the second amendment.  the vote was 5 - 4 and that is what disgusts me.  four judges, who are sworn to uphold the Consitution and interpret its original intent, had the boldness to vote against our own Constitution. the 2nd amendment says “… the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”   ‘shall not be infringed’ states that this right preexisted the constitution or our government itself, it is not something that is granted!

anyway i will now hold my nose and vote for McCain in the hopes that he will vote in a conservative supreme court judge.  it is the judges that the presidents choose that is their real legacy, and i’m fearful that Obama would make the wrong decision. change isn’t always good.
